This kit goes together really well and makes into a very nice model. The way the steps, step hangers and solebars are etched in one piece is really clever, although fiddly to bend into the right shape. The great benefit is that it remains square, perfectly lined up and more importantly strong when assembled. A suggestion is to leave the inner cabin ends separate until after painting. It is hard to spray the inner ends neatly when assembled, and they can be slotted into place and glued in after the whole model is painted. I fitted the external strapping using a resistance soldering unit which keeps it all clean while soldering it together. I replaced the buffer heads with my own turned ones, rather than use the whitemetal cast ones in the kit. A personal preference but one I intend to follow with all Jim's kits.
